Hi, i have a slight problem. i have put together a fifteen minute clip for a friend and wanted to post it on youtube. The Clip is 2.07 GB and youtube only lets one upload clips that are 2GB. The clip was shot in SD and i have edited the clip in SD and exported it using quick time converter. the format that it is in is apple prores 422. I am working off an iMac. what would be the best program to use with regards to converting the final product into a smaller format, or should i just go back to the original project in FCP and try and make a few of the clips shorter. i would like to try and avoid the second option because it is synced with music.

Use Share/Compressor preset for youtube. Leave default settings they’ll do just fine. Available since FCP7.

Is Share Compressor on the youtube website, or is it a program that i would have to download?

Is the Share/Compressor relatively easy to find on youtube, or is it something that has to be downloaded?

Share is a feature since fcp 7 that, among other things, transcodes for and upload to youtube. Compressor is a separate application from Final Cut Suite 3.

Try this link. I think it will explain everything you need to know to share from FCP7.
