Log & Capture Mystery!
Posted by Gautam Pandey on February 11, 2011 at 6:07 amHi all,
Have a strange issue at hand…
Footage looks fine in the Log & Capture window, but when I do Captuer now the footage is B&W!
On the timeline however its colour.
Another issue was while capturing the audio would stop and there would be VERY loud static noise almost like a bad cable connection.
However if i stop the capture and refresh FCP the audio is back.
ANy ideas why this might be happening?
Thanks!

February 11, 2011 at 6:19 amWhat type of deck? How is it connected? What type of footage? Is there a capture card involved?

Footage is SD PAL
Capture Card – AJA Io

February 11, 2011 at 9:56 amIn your AJA control panel set analog input to COMPONENT.
Now it’s set to Y/C or Composite. That will give you black and white signal.
No mysteries here.

February 12, 2011 at 4:51 amHi Paul,
I can’t seem to locate the aja control panel! I suspect this might be part of the problem. Though all the setups are available in FCP.
The only AJA folder I found was in a FCS2 Update folder.
Would you recommend i try reinstalling the AJA software?
Thanks

February 14, 2011 at 9:23 amIt’s in your Applications folder.
If not, you haven’t installed any AJA drivers
