    Hello fellow AE users,

    Just a thought really…

I am intending to do a mock up talking Winston Churchill using a still image.

If I cut the jaw/mouth into separate layers…

Is there any reason I could not motion track (using dots) my own lips doing the talking and then tie the movement into the the layers. Thus animating the movement of the still image lips/jaw to my motion tracked mouth? Or for that matter Eye movement etc etc..

    Ideas?

I think you might be able to do it with the puppet tool, but I don’t know of anyone who’s done it.

This *might* work (Or I could be horribly, HORRIBLY wrong):

Create the upper and lower lips as seperate elements. The lips should be in a separate comp from the face, and the comp should be the same resolution as your footage.

Create puppet points that correspond to the ones on your face.

    Motion track each point separately.

Apply the track to each point. Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t look good at first. Until each puppet point has tracking applied, it will be stretched in weird ways

PLEASE post your results here. Would love to see them.

    Sounds like fun.

If you want to do it easy, Crazy Talk is the fastest way to lip sync stills to speech, either spoken or text (of the speedh), with lots of options/expressions.
