Canon 5D Question
Posted by Matthew Rundell on October 23, 2010 at 7:40 pmNew to this workflow. But is the best way to get the original h264 dalies into final cut is through compressor? Using ProRez Hq or other?
Thank you.

October 23, 2010 at 9:53 pmThis way…tapeless workflow with FCP, including a link to the Canon EOS plugin to allow the Canon camera to be seen in Log and Transfer.

Or you can use Magic Bullet Grinder…
Or you can use Compressor…

The Canon EOS Utility has a feature to back up the card as a disk image .dmg file. Ever used this? Any pros/cons to it? My first though is you won’t see the actual files captured.

Nope.

Well, when you unzip it it will be the full card structure, but it won’t be inside a backup folder, with a unique name you give it that becomes the REEL name, that is VERY helpful for tracking footage.
