In fcp I right click on seq and select export using compressor, then I search mpeg4 I see all the settings so I try one I drag it to box and then hit submit, but the file it makes looks like a compressor file not a mpeg4 and when I double click the file compressor opens and the dialog box. How do I make an mpeg4 file that I can just upload to my ftp for a client. thanks kelly

Do not use QT Conversion. Use Export QT Movie. Drop that file into Compressor and choose a preset for h.264. Hint, type in h.264 in the search tab to bring up the presets.

The problem I’m having is the file opens compressor when I double click on mpeg4, maybe its not self contained and I don’t know how to change that I choose export to compressor choose and mpeg4 file setting drop it in the box and then hit submit, it makes the file but when I double click it again compressor opens up.

    Help

Do you Submit and when you go to close Compressor you chose SAVE?
is that file the one you try to open?
