    Hello there,

I have an intel IMAC core 2 duo with FCP 6 installed.

I am trying to upgrade my FCP6 to 6.0.4 but when doing the installation is says “You cannot install Pro Applications Update 2008-02 on this volume. Your computer does not need this update”

    Any ideas way?

    Many thanks,

    Zoee

Use the SOFTWARE UPDATE to do this. You might be missing some component that is needed before that one. Oh, but you don’t want to go to FCP 6.0.6 do you?

    Hey Zoee,

Yeah, unless you don’t want to go any higher than 6.0.4 then I would just do a software update from the Apple Menu.

If that doesn’t work, it might be something with the hard drive that you are trying to install the update to.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

When I do the Software update from the apple menu it doesn’t show I need to upgrade my FCP6 at all.

What version are you currently running? In the Final Cut Pro menu, choose ABOUT.

Hmmm… I did some research for you and found this. Hopefully this helps:

“…The support guy told me that the only way to update is to use the OS X software update utility. So I’ll have to connect it to theinternet. :S
I will have to do that for both Leopard and Tiger Macs.”
