I have a VCR which I have hooked into the Pyro with RCA cables and then the Pyro going into my Mac Pro with FireWire. I turned off “abort capture for dropped frames” and my capture settings are non-controllable device, and DV NTSC 48Khz Advanced. I now can record without it stopping but the audio latency is horrible. Any suggestions?

Also, when I play back what was captured, it will play the audio, with the latency, but if I stop the clip, I cannot hear any audio unless I play the clip from the beginning.

I have 16 gigs of ram and the ATI Radeon HD 3870 video card and FCP 7.0.2

    Hi Jenny,
What kind of hard drive are you using?

All internal drives. The fcp file is on a separate drive than what I am capturing on. FCP itself is running on a separate drive too. So total 3 different drives.

Or are you asking about brands of hardrives? Then all Seagate Barracuda 1.5tb 7200’s, except the Western Digital Hard drive which is my OS X and FCP application drive that came with the machine.

No Jenny, I was wondering if you were using any USB or FAT-32 formated HD.

With internal HDs and your RAM this shouldn’t be happening.
No clue Jenny, but whenever I have this kind of issues (glitches, slow performance..) I start by running Diskwarrior.
90% of the FC problems comes from a poor System maintenance.
