I dont know why, but my client, a news station that wants to import some clips from my FCP system to their AVID, cannot seem to import Uncompressed QT’s. We are working with XDcam HD files on FC and I am trying to give them a file to view.
Best codec for an AVID to ingest from FCP?

    FCP 6.06, OS 10.5.8 2x3GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Kona LHe, Dulce Duo-eSATA 8 Drive, 4TB Raid.

Download the Avid Quicktime Codec package from Avid’s website.

Ingest in the native XDCAM-HD codec, then batch convert the clips to the Avid codec using Compressor. You will have to duplicate an existing Uncompressed preset then modify it to use the Avid Uncompressed Codec (1:1x)

If you don’t want to bother with installing the Avid codec, you can convert to the Animation codec, which is readable by Avid.

Do not try to ingest directly to the Avid codec or Animation.

If this is just for viewing and you don’t care about quality, you can also just use the DV-NTSC (or PAL, if you are in a PAL country), which will also be readable by Avid.
