Anyone had this happen or know what might cause it?

I set up a PDF compatible layered .ai file and brought it into AE for animation…all worked fine (I don’t usually use AI files, usually photoshop) until that is I did a cntrl+E command to edit a particular layer in Illustrator….Il loaded up and then gave an error saying the file was corrupted..I toggle back to AE and the same – all my morning’s work destroyed!

Luckily on this occasion I had a back up AI file that just needed some layers consolidating and renaming to re-save as previous filename. Phew. But if I didn’t have the back up..well, put it this way – my client would’ve blown steam out of his ears.

    Any thoughts guys?
