  • Send multiple timelines to Compressor???

Posted by Michael Garske on April 5, 2010 at 8:40 pm

I have several timelines which I would like to send to compressor simultaneously with the same compression settings.

Is there a way to submit all of the timelines to Compressor from Final Cut at the same time?

I know there must be a simple answer, I’ve just never attempted it before. Thanks ahead of time for your input.

Export reference movies and then open compressor and bring in the reference movies.

    Hindsight is always 1080p

How do you make a reference movie? Does it have to render that out to make a QT file?

Do you mean export-quicktime movie? Is that generic export considered a reference movie? If that’s the case it would take a lot of added time to export in that way as well as using compressor.

Ideally what I’d like to be able to do is set all them in a list to render over night so I wouldn’t need to baby sit each export.

If you take a look at FCP’s manual (Help Menu) you will learn about batch export. It also explains what a reference movie is.

select the sequences then right click batch export and set the destiny
and codec and what not, then let the machine do its thing.

the run them through compressor with clustering turned on.

Rendered timelines export pretty fast I’ve found.
