How do I edit images in fcp 7 without having to render them
I’m cutting an animatic together for an animated section of my film. I drew the storyboards and scanned them in, re-sized them to 640 x 360px and saved them as jpgs.
I set up my sequence preset to pro-res LT 640 x 360 23.98fps with a square pixel aspect ratio.
When I attempt to drop my images into the sequence for editing I get the dreaded red render bar and must render every single edit. It is very laborious and I know at some point in the past I was able to edit images without rendering.
I tried 80 other codecs, all the different pro-res codecs, the animation codec, none, the dv codecs, nothing worked.
I tried to use all the image file types i could think of: png, jpg, gif, psd, tif, bmp, nothing worked.
this is what it all looks like. https://blkcinematheque.com/fcpimages.png
as you can see in the Viewer window I haven’t changed anything about the image that would require me to render it.
Please anyone put me up on a workflow for editing still images that will allow me to avoid all the rendering.
thanks.
