    1. Use Boris Title 3D instead of the standard text tool. It comes with FCP, not an add on.

    2. When your done editing, go to Sequence>>Settings and change the compressor to DV50, then re-render the entire timeline.

    Yours is the 3rd posting this weekend to ask why your video quality doesn’t look good. the answers are always the same:

    1- You’re not working in a high quality codec
    2- You’re not monitoring your picture properly
    3- Both of the above

    what is the appropriate codec for high quality? pro res hq? i have a sequence already edited with another codec, change the codec will work? or have to re-edit everything from the beginning with the correct codec? tanks a lot

    I told you exactly how to do the proper steps in #2 above. If I meant for you to use ProRes HQ I would have told you to use it. Just follow the instructions.

    Use DVCPro50. Apple had it mislabeled as DV50 for nearly ten years, I guess they’ve finally fixed it.
