    Hi,

    Question :

is it possible to use XDCAM EX .movs from the JVC HM700
    in FCP6?

And, if so, do I need additional plugins that you might know of?

I’ve got an PowerPc G5 Mac and Final Cut Studio 2.

    Thanks in advance

Just need FCP 6.0.6, and you should be set.

No plugins needed..just drag and drop the Qt files into a project…

    Thanks for responding.

The problem I have is when I import the files into FCP 6.0 and press “render”, I get the popup that the codec is not installed.

When I use the JVC software that came with the camera, it says it requires FCP 6.0.5, which I do not have…

Why is it so difficult to use a quicktime file specificly designed for FCP in FCP?

    Does that make any sense?

    Thanks.

Aah, you said 6.0.6! So that’s the key? In 6.0.6 the codec is installed in the software itself, nothing else is needed… Thank you!
