basically, i’m looking for some additional knowledge of fcp audio output. i captured 4 channels of discrete audio from a source and married it to video. now, i wish to output that sequence to a tape
keeping all of the audio to its separate channels. if i choose “dual mono” will that not lower my output channels by 3db? would dual stereo be the correct path? any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks,
    tomd

When you switch to Dual Mono, FCP by default bumps the audio +3db. Go into the SEQUENCE SETTINGS, Audio Tab and set your channel output.

Then, in the timeline, right click between the lock and the auto select button to map what track of audio goes to what channel.
