I want to convert a lot of h264 from a contour HD miniature camera. It shoots @29.97 and I\’ve been using compressor to convert the files to 50i. Takes a long time even with an October tower.

Is compressor using the eight processors?

Could I use Cs4 as it\’s 8 core optimized? Which part of cs4 is like compressor?

Have you setup a quick cluster for compressor to work in? I personally feel that Compressor does a better job of standards conversion than Adobe Media Encoder. In compressor, make sure you’re using Frame Controls and Rate Conversion is at Better or Best if you have the time.

Maybe some others can chime in.
