  • Media Duration dropping by frames when exported from Avid into FCP

    Hello,

I am in the process of receiving files from an Avid Liquid system into FCP. So, I export the edited sequence in Avid Liquid as Quicktime files (PAL 25fps). It plays fine in quicktime player. But, when I bring the file into FCP it plays the video in slowmotion (when i check the properties of the clip in FCP it shows frame rate as 12FPS). But, if i hit a full render (OPT+R), it renders the timeline and then the video plays fine in its original framerate (but still the properties show as 12FPS), considering this as a secondary problem the main problem i face is the duration of the clip has dropped by couple of frames. This is a real issue.

Why is this happening? Any ideas?

What kind of QT files are you exporting to from Liquid?

Exporting .mov files with DVPAL codec at 25fps. I have even tried with different field order settings and also as progressive frames. Nothing good!
