  FCP not capturing miniDV footage taped in LP

  Please HELP! I taped some mini DV in LP mode and my FCP will not capture it.
  The capture window plays the footage but if i hit capture – the capture window doesn’t capture because it is looking for timecode. The timecode does not advance if i try to capture.
  I have fcp 6.

  LP is never recommend to record in but if you do, it is recommended that you capture from the camera it was recorded with.

  But if you do a capture now with Device Control set to non-controllable device it will not look for TC.

  where is device control? I searched for it but couldnt find it in FCP 6
