  Can no longer set Default transition

  I used to be able to select an edit point and hit command/T to apply a dissolve, my default transition. Now, command/T does nothing. I see in the Effect menu that Default and Set Default are grayed out and cannot be selected. How do I reactivate my default settings? Thanks.

  Try trashing your preferences.

  An old Media 100 trick as well. I haven’t done it in FC, where do I find the folder?

  In user~Library/Preferences/FCP User Data.
  Delete the: Prefs, Obj Cache and Prof Cache
