    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with files going missing from the desktop with Snow Leopard.

I am a High School video teacher using Final Cut studio 3 on a new iMac. I was uploading a video file using Filezilla and I had FCP open in the background. I was working right next to it when I noticed the FCP icon jumping up and down on the dock so I open it to see what the message was and it wanted me to reset the scratch disk because the folder I had it set to was missing. No one was using the computer and the file that i was uploading was saved in that folder. It seemed to continue to load, so I left it alone. When it was done I search for the folder everywhere but it simply vanished. I had a lot of files in that folder and they have all disappeared. This is very disconcerting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this happen to me once a couple years ago. I was finishing a 20 min project and the capture scratch just went missing I completly redid the project and it was only when I finished did I think to check the trash and sure enough there it was. Its never happened again and I dont know why it did so I can only say check your trash if you havent already.

    Thank you for your response.

I checked the trash, it’s nowhere to be found. I restarted hoping that it would show up again but it wasn’t there. Like I said, I was working right next to the computer, no one touched it, it was there one minute and gone the next.

    I am perplexed.
