  Out of sync audio from Compressor

  Hello,
  We are trying to standards convert a 50min NTSC Apple ProRes 1080i file to PAL Apple ProRes 1080i through compressor. Every time we send it through, we receive a file with with audio gradually slipping out of sync. First 10-15 minutes seem fine but by minute 30, we are out of sync. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  Hoe are you doing the standards conversion?

  What I mean is, what settings are you using?

  Here are our settings:
  Under the Encoder tab –
  Video – Apple ProRes, 25FPS

  Audio – Linear PCM, Stereo, 48 KHZ Render settings-Normal, PCM Settings 24bit.

  Streaming – none

  Under The Frame Controls Tab –
  Frame Controls-On
  Resize Filter – Better
  Output Fields – Top first
  Deinterlace – Fast
  Adaptive details – Check

  Rate Conversion – Fast

  Set Duration – We have used both % of source and “So Source Frames Play at 25FPS”

  Under the Filters Tab – None

  Under the Geometry tab –
  Frame Size – Grayed out 1920 x1080 – 100% of source

  That is all of the settings we are using. Hopefully you can find something we are doing wrong. Thanks for your help.

  I’ve not used Compressor for standards conversion. I use Nattress for that. I suggest at the very least you set Compressor’s Rate Conversion quality setting to Best. When changing a clip’s scaling or timebase with Compressor, I always go with Best quality settings.
