During the project editing and approval process I spend a lot of time scrolling down the File>Export:QuicktimeMovie> Settings: > currentsettings …selection list.
Over time this comprehensive list has been getting longer.

I have tried loosing some of the unused default formats which does reduce the contents a little but I want to ask if there is any way to bring my favourite export choice to the top of the list?

create a droplet in compressor of your favorite export settings and let it live on your desktop. Then, export a self-contained movie. Drop the movie onto the droplet, and compressor will do the rest.

Thanks for the idea Dennis – it would work but I would like to reduce the amount of steps to get a file out.

atm. that “favourite” setting is right there in FCP as standard.
I want to avoid scrolling down that long long list x times an hour if I can help it.

I have the same thing with exporting still images. In AVID, you can customize export – JPEG at med quality…200×150…or whatever. It’s much better than “most recent settings” !!

    Hi MarkCookman

Don’t now if you’re doing this right now, but you can select the first one in the list and then type in the first letter of the one you’ll be using… It will go then to that part in the list

I use it when I want to go to Custom (at the most bottom of the list)
Then I type X.. which makes it go to XDCAM (not behind my computer, so it’s a bit of a guess)… this skippes 95 % of the list
