A friend has asked me to create one for a birthday party, looking for the best workflow for an sd dvd on a widescreen projector. Never actually done this before.

Best Easy setup? Seq settings? Other threads point out correct scan size & recommend 24p, but cant find an easy setup recommendation.

Also, I’ve set the still duration in the user pref to 15 sec., but everything still comes in as 12 seconds. Tried creating a new seq., but to no avail. I know I can adjust the duration by selecting all and right clicking on the timeline, but would like to know why the duration pref is not working.

    Thanks

Honestly the best way to do photo slideshows is not in FCP.

    Check out FotoMagico.

    Hi Zane,

I’ve seen that recommended, but the project’s just a freebie, and I’d have no use for it otherwise. Might try the demo, though.

Still don’t know why the still length import isn’t working.

    Then just use iPhoto.

There is no reason to sped hours key framing in FCP for something you are not getting any money for.

I just did one in iPhoto. Exported it as an HD QuickTime and then brought it into fcp to freshen it up. Saves a ton of time and still looks great.
