  Partial Export

  I trying to export 1080i files so that I can work with them in a 720p sequence without having to render new files every time I make a change, but when I export the files – either via batch export or individually – the resulting files all cut off about halfway through. (The IN/OUTs are at the very beginning/end of each file, and I leave “use source in/outs unchecked, anyway.)

  Any thoughts as to why my fcp won’t export full length files?

  What kind of drive are you exporting to and how is it formatted?

  Thanks for asking, John.

  I’m exporting to a Seagate Freeagent 500gb hard drive, formatted Mac OS Extended, but I have had this problem – where the runtime of clips or entire sequences is cut off about half way – when exporting to a G Drive RAID as well.

  Have you trashed prefs and repaired permissions? If not, try that. Also, run Disk Warrior on your system drive.
