  Cannot export 90 min movie file

  I just cut my first indie feature film.. it is 70 minutes long and the client wants a DVD of it.

  When I export it out of final cut at the DV/DVC50 NTSC codec, my mac segments it into nine 2 GB files, and appends -AV1, -AV2… to the end of each file…

  Is this normal?

  Anyway, my problem is that every piece of sofware I try burning it to a DVD crashes.

  I tried compressor… that just hangs when I put the standard 120 min DVD conversion settings on it…

  I tried doing it direct in DVDSP by just bringing in the QT file ( the first of the 9) That just spins for hours then tells me the encoding failed.

  I even tried in iDVD to no luck.

  It takes a day or so to see that it failed, so I am running out of time herre!

  It plays just fine in FCP and QT playerr…

  PLEASE HELP?

  Select the drive that you are sending the file to in the finder. Press command-i or control-click and “get info”.

  What is the format of the drive?

  MS DOS FAT 32

  Fat32 volumes have a file size limit.

  Try saving to a drive formatted for Macintosh, and you should be okay.

  Ok, so I exported it to a mac drive and the entire file is 17 GB… but I still experience the same problem when taking it to compressor or DVDSP…

  Back to square one!!

  Can you offer any more suggestions?
