Simply launch QuickTime Player and go to the menu bar: QuickTime Player > QuickTime Preferences.
Click on the Register button if you want to enter your serial number. If you have a recent copy of Final Cut Studio, you already have QT Pro activated.

I was told if the text in FCP is slightly muddy (and it is). I should go into quick time pro make sure the high quality video setting is checked within Quicktime pro.

In QuickTime Player, with your file open, press command and J keys to get the Properties window. Click the entry for Video > Visual Settings. The checkbox for High Quality is at bottom right. If you want this to be always enabled, go to QuckTime Player in the menu bar then, Preferences > General. Click the checkbox for “Use high-quality video settings where available”.

Also bear in mind that FCP is showing your video at a lower resolution to better enable real-time playback.

Thanks, I will give it a try see if it makes a difference. It’s not that crisp after rendering and .mov. See if it makes a difference in the .mov clip.
