I have this old deck at a place I work, it’s set to DV, hooked up via S video to a DVD/VHS player/recorder, which is what I want to capture from using the VHS side. I’m seeing an audio signal on the meters of the DVC Pro deck, but nothing out to the FCP capture window.

I used to capture VHS like this at home through my DSR 11, but no go with this setup. Any thoughts?

    Have a wonderful day.

Is there a switch to choose which input Composite/S-Video, etc.

Do you have a TBC there? Try running the VHS through a TBC to stabalize the video. In order to get the cable TV signal at my ofice on a plasma (hooked up with SDI), I have to send it through a VCR with TBC so the DA Converter can work with the crappy signal.

Yeah, I had that same thought, I have a TBC at home I can bring in, so thanks.

    Have a wonderful day.

Also a lot of the dvcpro decks are menu deep- meaning there may be a menu setting for passthrough.
