  Exporting from DVCPro HD720P60 to 4:3

  I’m having trouble exporting an uncompressed Quicktime of a DVCPro HD720P60 sequence. I’m telling it to crop the image to NTSC 720×480 4:3 but it won’t. I keep getting very thin people doing very thin things. I feel fat enough already and frankly Compressor terrifies me because of my inexperience with it.

  Start with the preset in Apple>Format>Quicktime>Uncompressed 10-Bit (or 8-Bit)

  Click on Geometry Tab

  Source Inset Cropping
  Crop to 4:3 1.33:1

  Dimensions (encoded pixels)
  Frame size: 720×480
  Default for size

  Output Image Insert (Padding)
  Padding 4×3 1.33:1

  Click Save As and you should be good to go. Of course it is cropping the right and left of the image.

  Sorry yes, don’t let compressor scare you, all it can do is make a bad file and you can just delete it if you don’t like it, it cannot hurt you, I promise.

  Yes, I found everything as you said – will woodshed with the Compressor manual and give it a go
