I am in a sequence that is in 1920 x 1080 ProRes. I export out a quicktime from Final cut Pro 6.0.2. The show has lower 3rd titles that were created in Photoshop (CS3). Every time I come to a title in the Quicktime (7.3.1 Pro) it pops the white level up slightly. I bring the same file into Final Cut and it does not do this.
I look at my show in final cut , it does not do this. Every title does it in the Quicktime (ProRes HQ, not using conversion, Quicktime movie , self contained)
I open it in After Effects (CS3) it does not do it
I open it in Avid (which down converts it to DV space) I dont see it.
I take it to another machine – the quicktime- I dont see it(Quicktime 7.3.0)
Yet on this machine I made it on its clear as day. in the Quicktime file.
Is it the version of Quicktime?

    – OS 10.4.11

Machine is a Mac Pro (october 2007) 4 gigs of Ram. Quad

FC changes the Gamma of your picture to let you see how will look in a CRT.
You can set QT to do the same. In the Preferences> Enable FC Studio Compatibility.

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

Solved. Thank you very much. It was a setting in Quicktime – Visual settings-change to composition (settings in lower left) it defaulted to dithering for some reason. Note- when you change to composition it will resize video , just make video smaller or larger and it will snap back into place. Save file and you good to go.
Thank you once again, this forum is amazing.
