We tried to make a net-installation of FCP, by making a complete installation, then removing the serial number ID, make a disk image to install on several machines.
When we start FCP the first time, it ask for a serial number and we type the respective serial number (one separate for each machine, it’s comple legal), and the program starts, and it all function perfect.

After a restart the serial number has been replaced from the original we used to the initial installation, and then it wan’t start, because it’s locked to another Mac.

How can we prevent the machine to overwrite the “correct typed” serialnumber with the one we used on the “master machine” ??

I deployed FCS this way when I was working at Deluxe. First, I’d make Disk Images of FCS on an Xsan volume. Then I’d mount each disk from the disk image on each client and install. Then I would enter the serial number. It worked fine.

Thank’s, we will give another try, with a complete new image and new packages (we are using Filewave to this purpose) and then we cross our fingers.
Great to know that it SHOULD work
