For some reason FCP 6.0.2 won’t recognize any .tif files I try to import for a project.

I’m using a standard NTSC project setup in FCP and my .tif files include layers, alpha channel, no compression, Mac Byte Order, and RLE layer compression.

I’ve used both Photoshop CS 8.0 and CS3 and both haven’t worked.

… could be mistaken, but I’d assume FCP won’t support tiffs that have layers enabled. Tried flattening them? Or just use psd files if you need layers

I believe you have to turn off layers in TIF’s, they need to be flat.

We ran into this issue with an animation that was delivered to us as a TIF sequence. FCP would not read the files so I sent them into After Effects and rendered out a Quicktime movie.

    They’re probably CMYK.
