    hi there y’all

i am having a 90% failure rate when exporting from FCP6.01 to Comp3.
my set up is as follows
FCS 2 on a clean and updated install of Mac os x 10.4.11(back 2 back)
QT pro updated and installed prior to FCS 2 install.
    2.16ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1 Gb 667mhz DDR2 SDRAM
I am working with Dv footage from a Canon XL2(capture device)
Proj files stored on Mac HD and captured footage on Lacie 500gb via FW 400
i have being working until the upgarde to FCS2 on FCP 5.1.4 and Compressor 2.so i have some expeience with both apps.the older versions never or next to never suffered any app crahes like i am having now.

my problem is as follows.Prep and render my Seqs usually about 120minsRT total. in 45 min seqs. after exporting 1st seq FCP6.01 crashes as a work around i have just had to export one seq at a time ,force quit and reopen FCP and export next Seq and build a batch this way. Now after 2 exports when possible Comp3 crashes and so on.

Will a ram upgrade solve this?(are FCP6 and Comp3 ram intensive?)
will the upgrade to Comp3.01 solve this?
do i have to rip out Comp3 and try to reinstall which i believe is tricky?
Is FCP 6.01 the very latest or are there upgrades available?
will exporting as a Qt self contained or such like help?

please help this is day 3 in no where ville

    eoin
