I am exporting QT files from an XDCAM sequence, it took over an hour for the export of a 30 minute sequence, but the exported file only has the first 3 minutes! I checked to make sure the in and out points were correctly set and they were- this is really mystifying. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Out of disk space? Where are you exporting from? Is the timeline selected when you export?

I just had an issue exporting back to disc. apparently only the 1st 8 minutes exported of the 30 minute show. No errors, nothing showing why this happened. Anyone ever had this issue? I am right now re-rendering the show as a file and am going to try and put it to disc again tomorrow, but would love some sort of explanation of how this could possibly happen.

    1) You have in and out points marked on your timeline.

    2) you are out of disc space.

New just formatted disc and no in-out points set. Does Flip4Mac look at in-out points? I export via ethernet.

[Bryan DiCerb] “Does Flip4Mac look at in-out points? I export via ethernet.”

If you have in and out points set on your timeline, that’s all that gets exported. What do you mean you export via ethernet?

Flip4mac exports to XDCAM via ethernet or firewire. Ethernet is a heck of a lot faster than real time.

Well I am going to hope I had an outpoint in my timeline at the time of export and this isn’t some sort of freaky bug. All I know is I haven’t messed with it since I exported and there are no ins-outs on the timeline now.

I have heard of this issue with flip4mac, but unfortunately I don’t remember the solution. I would first export a Quicktime movie, then put that on a sequence and try exporting that as a wmv. Perhaps you should look into some flip4mac forums or something like that, because I’ve heard of that problem and I know people found a solution…
