    Hello,
I have a strange issue with my AJA IO and I really hope to get an advice from You.
I have a S-VHS cassette recorder (sony SVO – 9620), I`m trying to capture a VHS material with final cut.
The problem is, that during the capturing, I receive black and white signal, without color information. I use s-video cable. But when i plug the same cable not to AJA but in to my monitor, the video is normal, coloured.
I`ve tryed composite mode also, but then I`m receiving no video signal at all
    Please help me

Call AJA. Sounds like your box is dead or needs to be reset.
    Try the AJA forum.

Check your settings, make sure no other firewire wire devices are plugged into the same bus. You may need to download new drivers.

I would say you need a player with a built in Time Base Corrector
