November 7, 2007 at 1:04 pmI put the original music from the CD or other recording in audio tracks 1 and 2.
Then the field recorded audio in tracks 3 – 6.
Turn on the Audio Waveforms and lineup by eye and ear. When you play the audio, if it’s out of sync, you slide the shot forward and back 1 frame at a time until it’s in sync.

November 7, 2007 at 1:33 pmIf the sound is still slightly odd when lined up, check in the the Final Cut help under “subfame editing” to get even closer.

November 7, 2007 at 1:36 pmSorry, search help on “subframe” only. In FCP 5, it is page II-311.

Can you slip and move frames by a subframe amount? – I thought subframe was limited to keyframing.

I’ve used this in Final Cut 6 when syncing a motion picture telecine with direct to hard drive sound.
