It will probably load, and it will “run”

But you will start running across playback issues, and as some one who used a similar computer for a dvcpro hd project, it will be painful. Limit your effects until the end. rendering will kill you.

Than again it may not load, in which case you need to hack the install. Had to do it to get fcs2 onto an old, old g4.

A colleague of mine had 512M of memory in his MacBookPro. FCP would run but not Motion.
He had to upgrade to 2G of memory which was only about $80.

    Hi Dave,
Is posible that when running the installer he don’t let you make the installation because your hardware do not meet the minimum specs. Also the video-card can be an issue to install Motion. I don’t know with FCS2, but this happens to me when I tried to install Motion (few versions ago) in my TiBook (G4 667Mhz, 5 years old). Although he have 1Gb RAM, Motion says NO. Video card.
Fallow Peter’s suggestion and buy a bit more of RAM.It don’t go to change your life, but you won’t regret it.
Just to tell an old story. My first Mac was a LCIII with “8M RAM”. When I was able I bought another 16 M RAM, My God!! That was flying.
At that time I was working a lot with Photoshop, and was an incredible improvement. And I don;t remember the price, but 16M RAM at the time was not cheaper than 1Gb today 🙂
