How to zoom in on a person?
I have a wide shoot HD which 3 people in and i want to zoom in to one person. Will it keep the HD quailty? How can i do this in FCP? Thanks inadvance

You simply use the Motion Tab for this. Scale and Center are the two controls you’ll need to use. You can set keyframes for the movement.
There is a Final Cut Pro Basics forum and I’m sure you can do a search in there to find a more complete description of how to do this.

No. You picture will look less sharp, or may pixelate if you zoom in too far.

How far can you zoom in?
It depends on the quality of the footage. Just watch your footage on an HD monitor and keep zooming in until it starts looking bad and then you’ll know how far you can go

technically speaking… increasing the size of footage past 100% on any footage will reduce the picture quality. It’s just a matter of how far you want to push it before the reduced quality becomes really noticeable.
So the answer to “how much” depends on each individual I guess.
