  Converting DV 720×480 to uncompressed for final render

  Hi,

  All of my projects are shot in DV either 4:3 or 16:9. I have read a lot about the benefit of working uncompressed for the graphics and text.

  If I edit my entire project as standard DV 720 x 480, can I simply change the codec to 10-bit uncompressed for the final render or do I need to change the sequence size to 720 x 486 as well?

  The basic question is can I edit uncompressed on a 720 x 480 timeline or does it have to be 720 x 486.

  I use uncompressed at 720×480 quite often and have never seen any problems with it. I’d say you’re good to go, especially if you’re going out to DVD (720×480).
