I am working on a project that has quite a few slo-motion, fast motion effects. at times playing in reverse. All are done in time ramping. What I am finding is that I am getting a lot of interpolated motion during the speed change. At times if I turn off frame blending, in some cases it makes it better – but not in all. Should frame blending be on or off??

Shot speeds vary from 50% down to 30%, and as fast as 250%.

The footage was shot DVCPro50 at 24p. We are working in Uncompressed 29.97.

I don’t know if I should apply any other effects to smooth things out. Any suggestions for smoothing out these motions, would be very helpful.

    Thanks,
    Andrea

a really good idea is to send the clip to motion and then in timing parameters ask it to use optical flow

    it will take a while

if long master clip it is coming from then may be idea to export and reimport into your timeline to only analyse that clip
