Has anyone actually gone through a full “analyze” in FCP’s SmoothCam? I started a 5 second clip and it said 2 hours just to analyze the clip. Are there some advanced settings to make it go faster?

On the other hand, I sent the same clip to Motion and used the Stabilize feature and got the results I expected render time/quality-wise.

If you’re geeky enough to work with Shake, I still think it delivers the best value in terms of render time/quality with its additional anti-motion blur capabilities.

    Thoughts?

Smoothcam within FCP analyzed the full media file, not just the clip in/out. If its a long file, it will take forever. The solution, according to the manual is to Export the necessary section as a Quicktime then re-import, before running Smoothcam on it.
