  capturing from Sony HVR-V1U

  Can anyone help with some suggestions on why I can’t view footage when I try to capture from a Sony HVR-V1U camera? I can contol the tape however I get a preview disabled message across the log and capture window. I shot in DV mode with the same camera and my fcp settings are NTSC 48 kHz anamorphic and the device control is set to firewire ntsc.

  Over in the HDV forum there’s a thread on June 3rd called “FCP won’t capture Sony V1U”

  It looks similar to your problem. Check out their solution and see if it’s the same thing.
