no communication with deck
i asked about this like a week ago, but i still cant seem to get it to work.
ive got a kona lh and and m10u hdv deck.
and im trying to capture dvcprohd straight from my deck using the card, and still retain the timcode, and control the deck. i can capture by manually hitting play on my deck, then using capture now, but i cant get my computer to communicate over firewire with my deck. ive been looking all over, and i found the aja whitepaper : aja.com/pdf/support/AJA_whitepaper_HDV.pdf
but no luck.
any suggestions?cade

You have to set your control to dv in the deck. The component outputs will still output HD. Then set FCP for dv firewire deck control.

Can you get deck control without the Kona card involved (i.e. use an FCP HDV preset not a Knna one)?

and i dont have any other firewire devices connected

You have something setup funky is all I can think of. Your gear is working it seems.
You need to select a Kona capture preset, open the log and capture window, change the device control in the log and cap window to dv, make sure your deck is set to downconvert dv and it should work.
