rendering problems on final cut pro
Hi,
I’m working on a video project and i finished a portion of it & I’m having a massive problem I was hoping you might help me with.
I’ve been working on it for several months with Final Cut Pro 4 on a Mac & it’s saved on a external hard drive. It was rendering fine all along. Now all of a sudden it’s not rendering at all. I hit all the render options & the window just flashes by really fast & does nothing. it wouldn’t be that much of a problem except i’m trying to make a real time copy to dvd but during playback it drops frames & stops.
would you have any ideas/sugestions as to what might be wrong & what i might do to fix it? I’d really appreciate any help!

Try deleting all your present render files and have FCP
re render everything. If you’ve been working on this project for a while
you need to clear out the old render files. This is not unusual.
Just go into your render folder and trash all the files there.Dan

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I just tried getting rid of the render files & it didn’t work. I also tried cleaning out the hard drive a well as the Mac I’m working on. I went thru the manual for final cut & they had nothing on how to troubleshoot something like this. I’m stuck as what to do next & it pretty much is ruining the whole project as the frames keep dropping every time I play it or attempt to record it into a camcorder.
any other ideas will be very much appreciated.
