  • Editing at lower frame rates?

Posted by Brian Maffitt on January 16, 2007 at 6:24 pm

    Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before (I checked the archives) but is there a way to edit footage in Final Cut at a frame rate below 24fps? I have a project with a ton of 15fps footage, destined for the web, and it would be ideal to edit at this frame rate, but the sequence settings son’t seem to allow it. I know I can drop it into a 30fps timeline, but then I have to render.
Any info would be much appreciated,
    Brian

Looks great! Except it’s not working for me… I’ll get back to you after I pound on it a little more…

I get an error saying that I cannot nest a sequence with a different time base.

Are you following it EXACTLY? Because once you do it, it creates a sequene with your footage already in it.

I updated my FCP and it works perfectly. Thanks so much! This is a GREAT tip.
