HDV Client preview field monitor
Posted by Peter Ralph on November 16, 2006 at 9:31 pmI want an inexpensive (under $1000) monitor that I can run straight from my Canon HDV camera to let clients view the take.
Any recommendations?

November 17, 2006 at 3:55 amCheck b and h and search by price. Make sure it is HD capable and has the connections you need.
A good HD monitor that is under $1000 is tough to come by.
The Panasonic BT-LH1700 is a great monitor for clients, but it’s 3 grand.

November 17, 2006 at 5:49 pmit doesn’t need to be an HD monitor. Just a monitor to showcase the footage to clients to monitor and review. But I would like to impress them. I thought of using HDlink and a Cinema Display – but read that didn’t work too well.

You can get yourself a Dell 24″ widescreen monitor for under $1,000 and it has analog component inputs as long as your camera has analog outs.
Search bhphotovideo.com and you can at least get a sense of what’s out there.

go to markertek.com and look up Delvcam. Simple little LCD units that work well in the field. They have all kinds of accessories specific for using them in the field.
