  Windows Photoshop File and Final Cut

  When importing a windows photoshop psd into final cut studio on a mac, the file does not import as a layered sequence as it should. To get around this problem we opened the file on a mac with photoshop, simply saved the file and then when importing to final cut, everything worked as it should.

  Would like to know if there is a way to avoid having to do this step, as we don’t have photoshop for mac on the machine with final cut on it at present.

  Nope. That is the fix I always recommend.

  You might want to try installing Photoshop Elements on the Mac…its rather inexpensive.
