I have a sequence with a photoshop logo on top of a moving background. My question is: How do I replace the logo layer in the sequence [with another photoshop logo] while maintaining it’s position in the timeline, it’s duration and it’s transitions? Anyone know a time saving trick?
    TIA!

Use recconect media and reconnect the cliup on the timeline to the new file.

Use the replace feature. Load the new logo into the viewer, set your timeline marker to where you want it to start (not the beginning of the logo), go to the timeline, select the track with your logo in it, put the timeline marker in the middle of the logo or so and hit f11.

I tried that but got an error message: file does not have enough video tracks to reconnect to file in seq.

Another option is to copy the new logo in the Browser using CMD-c. Right click (or CTRL+click if you are of the one-button mouse persuasion) on the clip you want replaced in the timeline and choose “Paste Attributes”. Then tick the box for “Content”, and it should swap the files, leaving all filters and motion tab settings intact.

    Thanks debe,
that seems to work as long as the files have the same number of layers…….FCP needs to work on this……..
