  • Export audio problems – sounds drops in middle of EXPORT

    HI!

I have expoted an 8 minute piece from FCP as a QUICTIME MOVIE. When I open this EXPORTED QT file in FCP or in iDVD the audio drops out completely at about 3 minutes and then comes back in at 5 minutes.

I have exported dozens of shows from 1-120 minutes and I have never experienced this.

    any thoughts?
    thank you

Do an Audio Mixdown in “Squence” -> “Render Only” -> “Audio Mixdown”. Or do a “command-option-R”.

This is a bug that pissed me off quite a few times already…

Delete your audio render files, re-render, and try again.

[JeremyG] “Delete your audio render files, re-render, and try again.

The MIXDOWN basically performs the same end result of doing that.

Its the closest thing to a “super-fix” that you can do to a “Sticky” and/or Skipping” timeline.

Sorry, Thax, I disagree. Deleting render files is the only way to start with a clean slate. If you have copied and pasted other rendered audio from another timeline and FCp loses track of the render file, it sometimes replaces it with silence. Completely removing any left over render files is the only way I have fixed this. An audio mixdown will simply include the offending render file.

Audio Mixdown is one of THE most overlooked… but most IMPORTANT functions
in curing timeline stutters and pauses.

[Thax] “Audio Mixdown is one of THE most overlooked… but most IMPORTANT functions
in curing timeline stutters and pauses.”

I would turn that sentence into “Audio Mixdown is one of THE most overlooked… but most IMPORTANT functions
in curing mind twisting, head banging bugs.”

I would add that it is overlooked simply because it’s a non-sense having to mixdown to get rid of FCP bugs like that.
