photoshop with final cut
Posted by Tracy on March 16, 2006 at 2:17 pmdoes anyone know if I can import a layered photoshop file in FCP 4.5? Right now it is just coming in as a flat image.

March 16, 2006 at 2:26 pmIt should…. It always did for me. I find it a pain sometimes and it seems like FCP doesn’t handle Photoshop PSDs very well at all. I get aliased edges and distortion problems with mine, but then again I am using Photoshop 7.0, not CS2.
When you import the file, it comes in as a sequence, of sorts…. meaning that if you double click it, it will open a sequence with all of your layers.

March 16, 2006 at 2:28 pmIf you flatten the file in Photoshop, it will lose it’s layers, but if you don’t it shouldn’t. Needs to be a non flattened file, and contain NO blank layers.

All the best,
