What does everyone use to batch convert audio files?

We used to use mAC3dec, at it was great!
But now it is incompatible with Tiger, and no one has updated the program.

Looking at QTAmateur, seems just OK but some files it will not convert for no apparent reason.

Where i work the editor’s assistants MUST prep all audio to AIFF @ 48khz prior to giving it to the editor.

yes, i know Compressor 2 is great for this… BUT we want to be able to do this on any and all of our assistant stations as well….

Really the batch export ability should be available in Quicktime Pro.

dont know if this helps, but you can export multiple clips in QTpro, just open them all up, and export each of them. it will do quite a bit.

    works great.

Why not use itunes? Just set up a playlist as your batch.

[ben] “but you can export multiple clips in QTpro,”

I do this all the time for AIFF files and CD Audio files, but QT Pro doesn’t export mp3’s.

I found a program called Sound Grinder 2.5 to do just what you are doing. It works wonderfully. Very customizeable and very reasonably priced at $39 US. Give it a look. I love it.

You may want to use Final Cut Pro itself!

I answered this same question in November last year. Here’s the post:

Use FCP to Batch Convert AIFF/MP3 files to 48kHZ AIFFs

    Cheers,
