I am having a problem with FCP 5. Several problems. When I am trying to capture a clip, if the clip makes it thru without any reported timecode breaks the capture feature does not stop at the set out point. it over runs the out point and I have to abort the capture to stop the running. The next time i try to capture that same clip FCP tells me there were timecode breaks and stops the capture. Media100 captures this clip just fine. How do i stop FCP from running away?

What kind of deck are you using? Perhaps it’s not certified for use with FCP.

The deck I am using is a Sony DSR-80 DVCam. The signal routes thru a matrix switcher to an AJA IO LA Box and to the G5 by firewire.
